Aura Noctis is the neoclassical project of pianist and composer Olga B. Garc\u00eda. Her narrative music ranges from solo piano pieces to digital productions and live recordings with a chamber ensemble featuring piano, cello, oboe, and at times percussion and voice, always shaped by a melancholic and cinematic aesthetic.<\/p>\n

Her discography includes live recordings with her chamber ensemble, including En Directo 2015<\/em>, D\u00e9cada en Directo<\/em> and Through 2025<\/em> (forthcoming); studio albums for solo piano \u2014Solo Piano<\/em> and Solo Piano II<\/em>\u2014 and digital productions such as Hiems Aeterna<\/em> (2023), Vitae Proelium<\/em> (2012) and Itineris I<\/em> (2011).<\/p>\n

Aura Noctis\u2019 music is not easy to fit in any music genre. The catalogue spans solo-piano albums, live ensemble recordings, and digitally produced pieces. The music is narrative and emotive\u2014rooted in melancholy, shaded by an elegant darkness, and punctuated by bursts of drama at its most intense. It sits in dialogue with contemporary neoclassical and the cinematic realm while retaining a distinct voice, appealing to listeners of contemporary classical, film music, ambient\/ethereal, neoclassical darkwave, and chamber pop.<\/p>\n

2006 – 2009<\/h3>\n

The Aura Noctis project was created by Olga B. Garc\u00eda in 2006. Between 2006 and 2009 she was producing songs and sharing them through platforms such as myspace or soundclick.<\/p>\n

In 2007 she was asked to use her music in the Argentine animated short film \u201cOtra vez la pelota al agua\u201d (Cristian Gauna)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 2008 she released “Hidden Faces<\/a>“, a single in collaboration with Roger Subirana<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2010 – 2012<\/h3>\n

In 2010 Pilar Molina (cello, voices) joined the project. The songs were arranged for piano, cello and voices in order to be performed live.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2011, Aura Noctis’ first album, Itineris I<\/em>\u00a0(GH Records<\/a> and Twilight Records<\/a>) was released.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2011 Rub\u00e9n G. (frame drum, flutes) joined. The group performed live in Valencia (Teatro de los Manantiales) and Madrid (Ritmo y Comp\u00e1s & Museum of Romanticism).<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2012 Fernando (percussion) joined. They performed live in Madrid (Casa Encendida) and in Leipzig (Schaulpielhaus, at the Wave Gotik Treffen),<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of 2012 Carmen Ruiz (oboe) joined. They performed in Barcelona (Sala Demonix).<\/span><\/p>\n

In December 2012 the second album Vitae Proelium<\/em>\u00a0(In the Morningside Records<\/a>) was released.<\/span><\/p>\n

The band breaks up. During those years, Olga was working on new compositions.<\/span><\/p>\n

A new band is formed with Susana Rico on cello and Bea Tierno on vocals, as well as Carmen on oboe and Rub\u00e9n on percussion, who had previously collaborated.<\/p>\n

The new band performs in Espacio Ronda – Madrid and releases an album performed entirely live, available both on CD and digital audio as well as on DVD (En Directo 2015<\/em>, self-produced).<\/span><\/p>\n

During 2015 and 2016 the group played live on several occasions in different venues in Madrid.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2016 the band is invited to perform at the event “La Noche de los Candiles”, in Alm\u00f3cita, Almer\u00eda.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a break due to different circumstances that prevent Olga from dedicating time to the project.<\/p>\n

2022 – 2023<\/h3>\n

At the beginning of 2022, the ensemble reunited to perform once again at Espacio Ronda. Alongside Susana Rico (cello) and Carmen Ruiz (oboe), Sergi Perales joined on percussion, replacing Rub\u00e9n. Soprano Ana Rey collaborated as a guest vocalist, in addition to the ongoing collaboration with Bea.<\/p>\n

During that year, Olga resumed working with digital production tools and, in early 2023, released the album Hiems Aeterna<\/em> (Eternal Winter).<\/p>\n

In 2023, the group returned to the stage with a new concert, marking Mar Cabello\u2019s debut as vocalist. Later that year, Olga also presented a solo piano recital at the Ateneo de Madrid.<\/p>\n

2024 – 2026<\/h3>\n

In 2024, she released Solo Piano<\/em> (March) and Solo Piano II<\/em> (December), recorded at Carlos Marques\u2019 studio. Both albums combine solo piano versions of previously released pieces with new compositions.<\/p>\n

That summer, she performed in a piano-and-voice duo format at the Centro Cultural Emilia Pardo Baz\u00e1n.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of 2025, Olga presented a solo piano recital at Espacio Ronda, dedicated to the two solo piano albums released the previous year.<\/p>\n

To mark the tenth anniversary of the trio formed with Carmen Ruiz (oboe) and Susana Rico (cello), the album D\u00e9cada en Directo<\/em> was released in October 2025, followed by a new concert at Espacio Ronda in December. On this occasion, Sara Cort\u00e9s joined the ensemble on percussion, and Mar Cabello also participated as vocalist. New pieces such as Trilogy II<\/em>, Pulso<\/em> and Un vasito de agua<\/em> premiered, along with a version of Alone<\/em> by Stoa. A single featuring this version and a full album with the remaining concert repertoire will be released soon.<\/p>\n

Who is Aura Noctis?<\/h2>\n

The musical composition and production is carried out by the founder of the project, Olga Bartolom\u00e9 Garc\u00eda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
