More specifically, the stories behind the pieces that are solo piano versions of previously released works. For the new ones, their stories will come later \ud83d\ude42 For now, I\u2019ll just highlight their status as premieres and mention when they were composed.<\/p>\n<p>Starting with the latest one, <em>Solo Piano II<\/em>:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.submithub.com\/link\/aura-noctis-solo-piano-ii\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Solo Piano II<\/a>:<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Behind the Mask<\/strong>: Composed in 2024, debuting on this album..<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nana<\/strong>: Composed for lostfrontier&#8217;s sampler* &#8216;Music written for and inspired by babies&#8217; (Track 13 &#8211; Nana2 &#8211; Olga BG)<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/MusicWrittenForAndInspiredByBabies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/MusicWrittenForAndInspiredByBabies<\/a><br \/>\n*(<em>These are compilation albums featuring different artists, released annually by this radio host. More info <a href=\"https:\/\/lostfrontier.org\/v10\/v9\/samplers.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on his website<\/a>.<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amnis<\/strong>: Composed in 2013. <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/27ULhELJXzxfHCVrHTsch3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">First released<\/a> on the album <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/623ulYmxL8Q4HwyULcJT2e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">En Directo 2015<\/a>, in its version for piano and oboe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>El Cantar de las Hojas<\/strong>: Composed in 2011 as a gentle piano lullaby, originally titled &#8216;Inexistente final&#8217;. <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/198VXzXvlzUEgf10TBzBLI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Its vocal version<\/a>\u00a0debuted on the album &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/3V5NIZPFToqBoTItTM19Jq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vitae Proelium<\/a>&#8216; (2012), with vocals and lyrics by Pilar. It was also featured in the 2015 live <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/623ulYmxL8Q4HwyULcJT2e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">album<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=J6FoVqrW42g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">with vocals and lyrics by Bea<\/a>. You can also find other live performances on YouTube, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=c206FhQmQMQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in 2023 sung by Mar and with oboe<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UecH-36dZHE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in 2022 with Bea<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primer Viaje<\/strong>: Dating back to before 2000, it was originally sequenced on a keyboard. Released as &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/1mOblyx5kFFZZDKR1hwl31\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Erste Reise<\/a>&#8216; on the album &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/3rqloPc6RHxY6f1qO2OJtj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Itineris I<\/a>&#8216; its digitally produced version, arranged for piano, cello, and other instruments. <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/0DlP2DCnRoP4TWthQPSj34\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Also released<\/a> as &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3-VDsu0TEyU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Viajes<\/a>&#8216; (comprising Primer Viaje, Segundo Viaje, and Tercer Viaje), featured in the 2015 live <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/623ulYmxL8Q4HwyULcJT2e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">album<\/a> for piano, cello, oboe, and bendir. You can also fin on YouTube the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fbSOedZpg5g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2022 live performance<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desde el Silencio<\/strong>: Composed in 2007. Released as <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/3gKY9XJqZcnkiSUjPKTeLH\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">D.e.S<\/a>. on the album &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/3rqloPc6RHxY6f1qO2OJtj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Itineris I<\/a>&#8216; (2011) in its digitally produced version, featuring piano and other instruments..<\/p>\n<p><strong>La Danza del Duende<\/strong>: Originally a piece in B minor intended as an accompaniment for vocals. Later titled &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/58arL6JrSUbNsY3J6dR015\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dances of the Soul<\/a>&#8216; and released on the album &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/3V5NIZPFToqBoTItTM19Jq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vitae Proelium<\/a>&#8216; with vocals by Pilar and myself. Retitled &#8216;La Danza del Duende&#8217; in a new vocal version by Bea that remains unreleased, though we performed it live.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Let go<\/strong>: Composed in 2013 but previously unreleased. Its title reflects the theme of acceptance and letting go during its creation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Renacer<\/strong>: Composed between late 2023 and early 2024. The centerpiece of this album, and the reason why I wanted to record a second solo piano album soon, since I finished it shortly after recording the first album.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Now moving on to the previous album::<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/1541uNnHWzDlSjfhgbX5H4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Solo Piano<\/a>:<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Trisolgy<\/strong>: Composed in 2014. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=eDT8ZzKED-Y\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">piano, cello and oboe version<\/a> premiered live in 2015. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mKKAd225_OU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2022 live performance <\/a>is also available on YouTube. <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/7FVuCc7aIro166ciPt3ke9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Digitally produced version<\/a> released in 2023 (album &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/31ZWd9SzPKLfPjMkJaWGSU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hiems Aeterna<\/a>&#8216;). Initially composed in three parts in G minor, which inspired the wordplay in the title. Eventually, I condensed the three parts into one and arranged it for oboe and cello for the group premiere. I still plan to continue it and create a second part, as some themes were left out.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Omnia<\/strong>: Composed between 2011 and 2012. First released as &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/4gtUFxzA1h40rJR1xhhNzm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Omnia in Anima Manent<\/a>&#8216; in the \u00e1abum &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/3V5NIZPFToqBoTItTM19Jq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vitae Proelium<\/a>&#8216;\u00a0 \u2014 a piece with vocals and Latin lyrics, featuring Blanca Garc\u00eda on vocals. The title means \u201cEverything remains in the soul.\u201d Later arranged for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=C9i8OogkDxs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0piano, violonchelo y oboe<\/a>, it was included in the <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/623ulYmxL8Q4HwyULcJT2e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2015 live album<\/a>. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mKKAd225_OU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">live recording from 2022<\/a> is also available on YouTube.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Solsticio<\/strong>: Composed in 2021. My first composition after the pandemic and a musical hiatus. Its <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/intl-es\/track\/2aGUNfL8ajvUCpxDxR3UNZ?si=10b260cc2c0d4788\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">digitally produced version<\/a> was released in 2023 (album <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/31ZWd9SzPKLfPjMkJaWGSU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hiems Aeterna<\/a>). Performed and recorded live in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=uXdNL09T24w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2022<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0s_zTATh8ZE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2023<\/a>. Initially titled <em>\u201cSolsticio de infierno,\u201d<\/em> I eventually simplified it to <em>\u201cSolsticio.\u201d<\/em> Written in G\u266f minor, it\u2019s the longest piece so far (7 minutes for the solo piano version, nearly 9 for the full version).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Siberia<\/strong>: Composed in 2022. Its <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/1eDDvtM43ba8PmIkZgCB5X\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">digitally produced version<\/a> premiered in the album <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/31ZWd9SzPKLfPjMkJaWGSU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hiems Aeterna<\/a> (2023). Recorded live in 2023 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LbwjUBgMXFc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(available on YouTube)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Segundo Viaje<\/strong>: Composed between 2006 and 2007. First released as &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/0NM0bT9D5GUrC6bV0VAH75\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zweite Reise<\/a>&#8216; in the album &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/3rqloPc6RHxY6f1qO2OJtj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Itineris I<\/a>&#8216;, and later as part of &#8216;Viajes&#8217; (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3-VDsu0TEyU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">with cello and oboe<\/a>) in 2015.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fantas\u00eda<\/strong>: Composed in 2008. <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/1QedWkUakXHFIoSYa4ZYFM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">First released<\/a> in 2011 (album &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/3rqloPc6RHxY6f1qO2OJtj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Itineris I<\/a>&#8216;).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dreaming in Darkness<\/strong>: Composed in 2013. Originally a <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/track\/0nQuE92QWjoyIIO05tQwj5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">digitally produced vocal piece<\/a>, which wasn\u2019t released until 2023 (album &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/31ZWd9SzPKLfPjMkJaWGSU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hiems Aeterna<\/a>&#8216;). In 2015, I arranged it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WJLRNoXc0EI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">for cello and oboe<\/a> and it premiered in that year\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/623ulYmxL8Q4HwyULcJT2e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">album<\/a> and concert.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In this post, as promised, I\u2019ll share the stories behind each composition in my last two solo piano albums.
